截自 被指華人味太重？ 華裔女主播自爆整形：美國CBS電視台一名華裔女主播陳朱莉，日前上節目表示為了進媒體界不讓白人歧視，她承認曾動刀整形，讓自己華人味少一點，她說20多年前踏入這一行擔任記者時，有次新聞部經理跟她說妳不會當主播的，因為妳是中國人，眼睛太重、太小了，這番話讓陳朱莉相當打擊，最後她動了手術，她說自己以身為華人自豪，但也不想讓人生有遺憾。
美華裔女主播陳朱莉(Julie Chen)：「我想要得到(主播)這個工作，為這個人(新聞部經理)工作，所以開始去見一些經紀人，也整形。」
鏡頭前大方坦承自己整形，這位美國華裔女主播陳朱莉，日前上美國節目表示都是因為想要當主播的她，曾經碰過經紀人對她說。陳朱莉(Julie Chen)：「我不能當你的經紀人，除非你去做整形手術把你的眼睛變更大。」
陳朱莉表示，20年前才剛踏入新聞圈當記者，但有次新聞部經理也跟她說她不會當主播，因為她是華人，眼睛太小了，讓她深受打擊，之後決定靠整形來改變外在。陳朱莉(Julie Chen)：「我想要秀給你們看對比的照片，一切有多麼的戲劇化，你就會發現整形手術後眼睛變的比較大。」
在節目中大方展示自己整形前後照片，明顯看的出眼睛跟鼻子及臉型輪廓都有明顯變化，整個人不只變的有自信，連異性緣也變好了。陳朱莉(Julie Chen)：「當我做了這件事(整形)後，每件事上我都得到很多好處。」
當初不顧家人反對堅決整形，如今也因此順利當上女主播，強調整形只是為了進媒體界不讓白人歧視，也不想讓人生有遺憾。陳朱莉(Julie Chen)：「我完成這些事，但我也很驕傲我是一個華人。」
The majority of people who chooses to seek plastic surgery to better their looks usually is due to terrible personal experience with discrimination, judgmental critiques and unequal treatment from people in their own society. The standard of “beauty” is so regulated by the public opinion that people who does not live up to the standard are being rejected, segregated and bullied by their own peers, sometimes even their own family. Because of these social rejections, the technology of plastic surgery is invented and more doctors are becoming plastic sergeant because people are willing to pay for the physical transformation. But, is it really their fault for wanting to be accepted by their own society? I think not. What Julie Chen confessed in the show is courageous and plausible because she publicly admitted the plastic surgery and sharing her personal experience that reveals the social problem we still witness today in the world.
